OBI | O Bee | Belt |
OSAE KOMI | O Sa Ko Me | Holding, referee’s call signalling to the timekeeper that a hold is effective |

SENSEI | Sen Say | Teacher, Senior |
SHIAI | Shy I | Contest |
SHIDO | She Doe | Note (penalty equivalent to three points) |

WAZA-ARI | Wah Zar Ee | A score, almost an ippon (score value of seven points) |
